Springmaid Mountain Retreat, a sister property of Anne Springs Close Greenway, will host a grand reopening celebration on Monday, August 24, 2026. The community is invited to celebrate the property’s transformation, featuring revitalized hiking trails, a new General Store, enhanced guest amenities and expanded outdoor recreation experiences for visitors of all ages. The celebration will conclude with an official ribbon cutting ceremony, commemorating the campground’s reopening and marking a new chapter for Springmaid Mountain.
Following the widespread impacts of Hurricane Helene, Springmaid Mountain staff, supported by the community, worked tirelessly to rebuild, restore and strengthen the property. Every renovation and new addition was thoughtfully designed to preserve the character and natural beauty that have long defined Springmaid Mountain while enhancing the overall visitor experience.
Guests attending the celebration will have the opportunity to explore the improvements, connect with staff and experience firsthand the intention behind each implemented project. The newly renovated campground serves as the centerpiece of the property’s transformation. It features refreshed campsites for tents, RVs and pop-up campers, a new climate-controlled bathhouse with private bathrooms and showers, ADA accessible accommodations, laundry room and Wi-Fi, providing everything needed for a comfortable stay in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The grand reopening represents more than the completion of a restoration project; it reflects the resilience and shared commitment that guided Springmaid Mountain’s recovery. It serves as a celebration of the progress achieved and the enduring dedication behind the property’s renewal.
